Welcome to and thanks for visiting Richard Hannon Racing.tv

This site is designed to keep our owners up to date with all the goings on at Everleigh and Herridge, with all the latest news and reactions throughout the year.

For those of you not familiar with our set-up, we'll be introducing you to members of our team from the staff in and around the yards, our jockeys and obviously the Hannons - both Yours Truly and Richard Junior.

We have enjoyed the most fantastic season and surpassed last year's brilliant domestic tally of 171 winners and £2.6m in prize money by the end of August, and that obviously does not count the Irish 2000 Guineas victory of Canford Cliffs, the Prix Jean Prat triumph of Dick Turpin, who also had a bumper pay-day when runner-up in the French 2000 Guineas, and the Prix Jacques le Marois third of Paco Boy. We have bought some terrific bargains at the Sales over the years, such as Indian Ink for 25,000gns, but to pick up Canford Cliffs (50,000gns), Paco Boy (30,000gns) and Dick Turpin (26,000 Euros) for less than 100 grand ranks as one of our greatest achievements and is a great tribute to the team. Our association with Peter and Ross Doyle - the boss also did plenty of business with Peter's father Jack - has not only proved lucrative for everyone but is one which we treasure as they are true friends of all our family.

When Dick Turpin and Canford Cliffs filled the places in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket we feared it might be one of those 'nearly' seasons, but we saw the real Canford in the Irish equivalent at The Curragh and he added further Group 1's in the St James's Palace at Royal Ascot and Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, while Dick Turpin, runner-up three times at the top table, finally gained his just reward when clinching his membership to the penthouse at Chantilly and Paco Boy enjoyed his day in the sun when winning the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury before failing narrowly to retain his Queen Anne crown when beaten a whisker by the phenomenal Goldikova at the Royal meeting.

This season's crop of two-year-olds have proved a fantastic bunch, and since Takeaway set the ball rolling at Kempton in March it seems to have been a never ending flow of success from the juvenile division. Strong Suit (£40,000) and Memory (£72,000) topped up the Canford Cliffs celebrations at Royal Ascot, we mopped up all three of the Group races for juveniles at Newmarket's prestigious July meeting, winning the July Stakes with Libranno (26,000gns), the Cherry Hinton with Memory and the Superlative with King Torus (30,000 Euros), and at what proved a record-breaking nine race winning spree at Glorious Goodwood, spearheaded by Canford Cliffs, we had more reasons to thank the younger generation with the diminuitive Zebedee (70,000gns), who has won four out of five this season, capturing the Molecomb Stakes, King Torus following up in the Vintage and Libranno in the Richmond, while Pausanias (29,000gns), Kalahaag (50,000gns) and Eucharist (£18,000) also did their bit to ensure that the champagne corks were popping all over the Sussex Downs.

Richard Hannon
